The touchpad driver I have is already updated (Elan Precision Touchpad Filter Driver).

The old laptop that I had, had a similar issue until I uninstalled / reverted a driver update (synaptic touchpad), this however is not possible with this new laptop as the only driver (Elan Precision Touchpad Filter) doesn't have any prior updates to revert to. This along side the mouse acceleration causes the speed to constantly reset to 0 (pixels a second?) while needing to accelerate to normal speed again.

I use the trackpad to play games and whenever I click the touchpad (right or left click) the mouse freezes in place. The main issue I'm having with this laptop is that it utilizes a new feature called "precision touchpad" that streamlines the touchpad to make it suited for office use / general use. I recently got a new laptop (HP Pavilion 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC 15-ec2000).
